Since childhood Christine Tamayo has sought a true sense of purpose and leadership. “I’ve always wanted to help others,” she said. So when she heard about West Point, the U.S. Military Academy, it all clicked.

“I have no military background, and I don’t come from a military family,” she says, “but I thought, Soldiers protect the nation. What better way to protect the nation and be selfless than to be a soldier?”
